Okay, first, that Derek Fisher shot still gives me chills.

Second, I loved that Kenny and Charles drilled him on the consistency and the Boozer thing.  Finally we get some truth about the Boozer situation.  It probably is better now but I don’t know how much.

I loved that they went after him because I don’t know if anyone else has in that regard.  I’m sure Deron gets after himself but there are no vets on the team to get on him.  Look at Rondo in Boston.  Having the big three there has probably made him the player that he is today.  Deron has been missing out on that since Fisher left.  I think Deron needs someone that he looks up to to push him and Kenny and Charles did just that.

We don’t have anyone that acts as the veteran that can tell Deron how it is or tells him that he can still do more, etc.   We miss Fisher in that regard. I think Kenny might be right.  Making the all-star team is great, but if that’s Deron’s goal right now, that’s not enough.  I like how Kenny said forget about that, you need to focus on making the first or second teams (though he has made the second team already).  Great stuff.  I would like to know if they gave him any off-camera advice.

Like I’ve said before, maybe the focus on getting to an All-star game is a bad idea.  Maybe the focus should be instead of voting Deron to the All-star game, it should be to push for an MVP-type season which would mean focusing more on winning instead of putting up stats.

Though, I would like to point out that since the post about VoteDeron.com being a bad idea, his TOs are down and his play has gone way up.
