Deron Williams Is A 2010 NBA All-star

Los Angeles Lakers vs Utah Jazz Game 1 first-round playoffs in Los Angeles

Finally!

From Yahoo!,

Point guards Deron Williams(notes) of Utah, Chicago’s Derrick Rose(notes) and Boston’s Rajon Rondo(notes) will make their All-Star Game debuts next month in Dallas, sources said Thursday.

Though we didn’t have anything to do with this vote, it was all coaches, it’s nice to see some efforts pay off.

The biggest benefit going forward is that once you’re voted in once, it seems to be a lot easier to get put in the next  time.  And maybe we can build some momentum for next year for the fan voting.  Once he’s in the game, he’ll start getting some more name recognition and should do better on the All-star ballots from the fans.  This will open a lot of doors for him.

So this isn’t the end of VoteDeron.com by any means.  We’ll keep going on and maybe with a strong push from the Jazz, the Vote Deron can transition to MVP votes.

Thanks for all the votes.  I know Deron appreciates it.

Congrats to D-Will.

Ball Don’t Lie picks up on Deron’s video @jeskeets

JE Skeets from Ball Don’t Lie put up Deron’s video which is great for views and traffic and hopefully votes for Deron.  Doesn’t sound like he’s too sympathetic though,

Here’s a novel idea: Let’s just vote every player into the All-Star Game. We’ll play 240-on-240.

A VoteDeron.com update

NBA 2009: Lakers Beat Jazz 113-100

Listen, I’ve been slacking and you’ve been slacking.

I never expected VoteDeron to be a huge impact on the voting but I should still be updating more frequently.  So before the New Year, let’s be resolute and double our efforts, okay?

As you may know by now, Deron is way down in the fan vote for the All-star game.  Kobe is out in front of course but he’s followed by Tracy McGrady who has yet to grace the court with his presence.  That hurts Deron  two ways in the one, there’s someone above him in the voting.  But most importantly, should he hold on to that two spot, Deron would be an at-large pick and have to be selected by the coaches when you have the likes of Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, Steve Nash, Brandon Roy, etc. that will be deserving of spot.   I almost need to start a DontVoteForTMac.com site and somehow convince he Chinese fan base not to vote for TMac.

As it is, we’ll deal with the coaches vote when that happens.

In the meantime, keep voting and more importantly, spread the word via blogging, Facebook, Twitter, at work, etc. to get others to vote for Deron.  And while you’re at it, vote for the other Jazz players.

Deron is barely 11th right now and I’d like to move him up at least.  It’s a tough climb with just about a month left in voting.  So it’s now or never.

The VoteDeron twitter campaign.

shaqtwitter

With All-star voting starting today (stop reading for a second, and go vote, I’ll wait), it’s time to start up the campaign efforts. My first plan is to appeal to the big NBA twitter users, starting with @the_real_shaq. Start big, right?

So what I need you to do is to re-tweet the tweets that are directed @the_real_shaq in hopes of gaining his attention. With the replies he gets a day, we need a few hundred directed at him to even scratch the surface. So when you see tweets going to NBA players, make sure to re-tweet so that we can get some support.

I would love to see Shaq RT to his millions of followers and get some votes for Deron.

I need everyone to do this for it to work.
