Why VoteDeron.com?  Let’s get straight to the point.  Deron Williams should have been an All-star by now.  The fact that he hasn’t yet is crazy.  Injuries, bigger names in the WC, and lack of exposure have all contributed to not having been an official All-star despite putting up All-star stats.

To borrow from Mark McGwire, we’re not here to talk about the past.  The purpose of VoteDeron.com is to get as much exposure as possible for Deron and get him in either via the fan vote (preferred) or the coaches vote.

VoteDeron.com will provide daily updates of Deron’s stats, videos, accomplishments, etc.  We’ll also provide coordinated efforts to get the word out and to get votes for Deron.

That’s where you come in.  It’s up to you to retweet, Facebook, and blog about everything you can find on Deron and encourage people to vote for him.  If you’re tweeting about him, make sure to use the #votederon hashtag.  And of course follow @votederon for updates.

The campaign will be in two parts.  First, we’ll try to get Deron in via the fan vote.  It will be very hard in the west given Kobe, Paul, Parker, etc.  But we have three months to try to accomplish that.  If that fails, the next step will be to get word out to the coaches that vote for the reserves.

Deron has been getting a lot of pre-season buzz for finally making the All-star game, but I’m not willing to take anything for granted.  Hopefully this site is just a drop in the bucket of in the overall movement that gets Deron sent to Dallas for his first All-star game.  Even if that happens, we’ll be doing this again next year given the competitive west.

So to get started, follow @votederon, email me votederon@gmail.com with info/question,  and stay tuned for more.
